Briana Volpintesta, PhD, LMFT
EMDR, Individual & Relationship Therapist
and Clinical Supervisor
I am a Licensed Marriage (Relationship) and Family Therapist in Philadelphia, PA.
It is my mission to offer collaborative, trauma-informed and anti-racist therapy to all individuals, couples, and families who are interested in self-exploration, growth, and healing personally and in relationships. Clients have told me that they enjoy my style of compassionate directness and collaboration with them on whatever they hope to achieve.
In working with survivors of trauma and loss, I use a combination of emotionally focused talk therapy and EMDR, which is a modality specifically designed for the treatment of trauma. Clients are encouraged to collaborate with me on their willingness to incorporate one or both methods into their treatment. I believe in clients using their own agency to drive the treatment, while also employing my education and experience to guide them.
I also hold a PhD from Bryn Mawr Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research, focusing on how white clinicians navigate race in therapy with BIPOC clients. My skillset also includes clinical supervision, research, teaching, speaking, and writing. I am always looking for clinicians and researchers to collaborate with on academic projects or peer supervision to feed my love of learning.
